(TNA) Member Rank Descriptions
The ranks of (TNA) all hold specific rights and priviliges. This is a description of all the ranks.

Administration:
The members in this rank may participate in any branch(es). Their duties are mainly administrative and involve the clan as a whole rather than a branch of group of branches. Their jobs include:
  • Maintaining a clan website/forum.
  • Passing any amendments to clan rules.
  • Maintaining order amongst the branches/assisting with individual branch difficulties if the need arises settling/assisting with disputes that:
    • Can not be handled by the branch HC.
    • Are amongst members of different branches.
    • Are amongst members of branch HC's.
    • Involve other clans.
  • Helping with financial difficulties in the event that a branch that requires a clan server to play needs assistance keeping its server up.
    • The Administration or the clan at large is not responsible to indefinetly pay for an individual branch's server.
    • Issues that arise from MMO bills will have to be individually discussed with the branch member(s) and Aministration.
    • Only in the most serious situations should the Administration or the clan at large be called upon for financial aid.
In regards to new branches of the clan:
  • All new branches must be approved by the Administration before they are allowed to be conceived.
  • The rules and procedures of any new branch need to be approved by the Administration before they are made official.
  • The first HC of a branch is chosen by the Administration.
In regards to the authority of the Administration:

The Administration is the highest rank in the clan. Ultimately, all stipulations and decisions in the clan can be made, changed or reversed by the Administration.
However:
  • The Administration exists to support and serve the clan, not to dominate it and its members. On this note:
    • The Administration, although having the highest authority, is advised to remain objective and distanced from the governing of individual branches. The only exception to this is if a member of the Administration is also a member of the leadership of a branch.
    • In regards to the individual doings of a branch, the Administration is to remain solely as an advisory staff. They are to intercede only if it is of the highest necessity.
  • The branch authority of an Administrator who is also a HC member is equal to that of a HC member for that branch; an Administrator who is also a HC member does not have more authority than his or her HC cohorts for that branch. This is to ensure that the HC's lead the branches, not one member with higher authority.
  • An Administrator who is a member of a certain branch but who is not part of its leadership structure functions as a HC Advisor for that branch. He/she is allowed and, to a discernable degree, expected to give input and assistance to the HC of the branch that he/she plays in. However:
    • In consideration of branch-only decisions, the Administrator in question's "vote" is equal to that of a standard member; he/she is only to be involved in the deciding factor(s) of the decision process if the general membership is also allowed.
      • The point in bullet C1 should rarely be bypassed. It can, though: in special circumstances and at the whim of the branch HC.
    • In consideration of the trialing process, an Administrator who is not a HC of a branch can, at the request of the branch HC, function as the arbiter at a Probate, Member, or Elite Member trial. This option should be avoided if possible, though.
In regards to the election of new members to the Administration:
  • The Administration chooses its own members.
    • Members of the Administration need to have been the HC of one branch for a sustatained period of 3 months. This requires that they also were a member of the branch's Council for a sustained period of 3 months and also a member of the branch's general membership for a sustained period of 3 months. This adds up to a total membership of at least 9 months before a member of the clan can be promoted to the Administration. (This amount of time is not influenced by the length of a member's probationary period)
      • This guideline should generally not be taken out of consideration, although, as noted above, the full authority of the Administration allows it to bypass this guideline at its will.
  • The "term" of an Administrator ends when:
    • They are removed from the position by a majority vote of their peers on the Administration.
    • They are removed from the clan by a majority vote of their peers on the Administration.
    • They leave according to their own will.

High Council
The members of this rank are charged with the governing of a specific branch. Their duties are aimed at the maintenance and growth of the branch in which they lead.
Their jobs include:
  • Generally moderating the forums and specifically organizing information on forums pertaining to their branch.
  • Passing amendments to branch rules (requires Administrative notification.)
  • Maintaining branch order, caring for branch difficulties, settling/assisting with disputes between branch members.
    • Issues that need to have Administrative input/notification include:
      • Issues that can not be handled by the branch HC.
      • Issues amongst members of different branches.
      • Issues amongst members of branch HC's (regardless of branch.)
      • Involve other clans.
  • Making sure the branch has a server to play on (if applicable.)
    • The Administration or the clan at large is not responsible to indefinetly pay for an individual branch's server.
    • Only in the most serious situations should the Administration or the clan at large be called upon for financial aid.
  • Maintaining in-game order by being reasonably present in-game and assigning branch/server admins.
  • Accepting/denying branch applicants.
  • Promoting/demoting branch members.
    • Demotion of a HC member requires Administrative notification/input and will be further detailed at the end of this outline.
  • Professing over trial processes. I: Removing branch members.
    • Removal of a HC member requires Administrative notification/input and will be further detailed at the end of this outline.
In regards to new branches of the clan:
  • All new branches must be approved by the Administration before they are allowed to be conceived.
  • The rules and procedures of any new branch need to be approved by the Administration before they are made official.
  • The first HC of a branch is chosen by the Administration.
In regards to the authority of High Council members: The High Councils are ranked second in the clan. However, unless otherwise stated, their authority is branch-specific. To elaborate:
  • A HC in "Branch A" who is a standard member in "Branch B" is a HC Advisor for that branch. He/she is allowed and, to a discernable degree, expected to give input and assistance to the HC of the branch that he/she plays in. However:
    • In consideration of branch-only decisions, the HC of Branch A in question's "vote" is equal to that of a standard member; he/she is only to be involved in the deciding factor(s) of the decision process if the general membership is also allowed.
      • The point in bullet A1 should rarely be bypassed. It can, though: in special circumstances and at the whim of the branch HC.
    • In consideration of the trialing process, the HC of Branch A can, at the request of the Branch B HC, function as the arbiter at a Probate, Member, or Elite Member trial. This option should be avoided if possible, though.
In regards to the election of new members to a High Council:
  • The Administration chooses the "launch HC" of a new branch.
  • The HC of a standing branch chooses its own members.
    • Members of a HC need to have been Council of that branch for a sustatained period of 3 months. This requires that they also were a member of the branch's general membership for a sustained period of 3 months. This adds up to a total membership of at least 6 months before a member of the branch can be promoted to the High Council. (This amount of time is not influenced by the length of a member's probationary period).
      • This guideline should generally not be taken out of consideration, although, as noted above, the full authority of the Administration allows it to bypass this guideline at its will. Additionally, subjective discernment should be used to make decisions in this and all matters.
  • The "term" of a HC member ends when:
    • They are removed from the position by the Administration.
    • They are removed from the clan by the Administration.
    • They are removed from the position by a majority vote of their peers on the HC (requires Administrative notification/input.)
    • They are removed from the clan by a majority vote of their peers on the HC (requires Administrative notification/input.)
    • They leave according to their own will.

High Council Advisor:

High Council Advisors are unique members. They are long-time members with great knowledge of the clan's governance, clan history and clan policy. They have the right of access to all sections of (TNA) forums and to all sanctums of (TNA) knowledge, but in ascertaining that, they abdicate the right to take an active role in voting and movement of new policy. They can not vote or take action in any event that a standard member of (TNA) can not.

The High Council Advisors are trusted members who have proven their dedication to (TNA) and to this community, regardless of what games this clan may or may not play. They are wise and intelligent, and their opinions on key issues are valuable.

Although not a requirement, they usually are members who, for one reason or another, are inactive in-game while still holding a dedication to this clan. Therefore, their time and energy is diverted into making sure that the rest of The New Alliance community is growing and gathering the same memories that they have had the opportunity to gather.

The High Council chooses who the High Council Advisors are, based on the criteria already listed. There are no official rules of who can and can not be a High Council Advisor, at least at this time.

Members under this classification can be neither Council nor High Council. Master Jedi status is not annulled by taking this rank.

Council:
The members of this rank are charged to assist the HC with the governing of a specific branch. Their duties are aimed at the maintenance and growth of the branch in which they moderate. Their jobs include:
  • Generally moderating the forums and specifically organizing information on forums pertaining to their branch.
  • Maintaining branch order, caring for branch difficulties, settling/assisting with disputes between branch members.
  • Issues that need to have HC input/notification include:
    • Issues amongst members of different branches.
    • Issues amongst members of the Council.
    • Issues that involve other clans.
    • Issues that can not be handled by the Council.
      • The Council and High Council should generally be in communication.
  • Maintaining in-game order by being reasonably present in-game.
  • Offering advice to the HC upon request/the notice of something that needs attention.
    • The HC, being busy with running the branch and other issues, may not notice certain things that someone with less responsibility may. It is important for Council members to always be striving for improvement in the branch and clan.
In regards to new branches of the clan:
  • The first Council of a branch is chosen by the Administration.
    • Depending on the size of the launch team, branches may not necessarily start with a Council.

In regards to the authority of Council members:

The Councils are ranked third in the clan. However, unless otherwise stated, their authority is branch-specific. To elaborate:
  • A Council in "Branch A" who is a standard member in "Branch B" is simply a member of "Branch B".
In regards to the election of new members to a Council:
  • The Administration chooses the "launch Council" of a new branch.
  • The HC of a standing branch chooses new Council members.
    • The Council (as a group and/or as individuals) can make promotion suggestions to the HC if they so choose.
    • Members of a Council need to have been part of the general membership of that branch for a sustatained period of 3 months. This adds up to a total membership of at least 3 months before a member of the branch can be promoted to the Council.
  • The "term" of a Council member ends when:
    • They are removed from the position by the Administration.
    • They are removed from the clan by the Administration.
    • They are removed from the position by the HC.
    • They are removed from the clan by the HC.
    • They leave according to their own will.

General Members:
These members are the backbone of the clan. They are not responsible for many duties, but they are charged to remain as honorable representatives of (TNA). General members:
  • Are to be actively involved in the both the branch they play in and the clan. This includes:
    • Being present on the forums and in-game.
    • Being up-to-date on clan doings.
    • Contributing to important discussions.
    • Voting on issues when asked.
  • Have completed a minimum 1-month probationary period in their branch and have passed a full membership trial.
  • Watch over probates by teaching them about TNA and reporting problems with probates to the person or people responsible for them.
  • Communicate problems or general issues to the Council and HC of their branch; active progress requires adaptation to new things.
  • Are fully acquainted with the rules of (TNA) and at least partially acquainted with its government.
  • Are actively improving their skills and knowledge.
  • Are familiar with the trial process of the branch they play in and are ready and able to participate in a trial if necessary.
  • The "term" of a member ends when:
    • They are removed by the Administration.
    • They are removed by the HC.
    • They leave according to their own will.

Probates:
Probates are members who have not yet attained full membership. They are on a "trial run" with the clan to see if they mesh well with TNA. The minimum length of a probationary period is 1 month. There is no maximum length.

The individual criteria for a probationary period varies depending on which branch the probate is a part of. But generally, probationary members are charged to be:
  • Actively playing and training.
  • Actively learning about (TNA). This includes but is not limited to:
    • Rules
    • Procedures
    • Ranks
    • History
  • Actively communicating on the forums.
Probates are expected to be well-behaved, honorable and decent people. People who exhibit the following qualities or take part in the following actions will most likely be very quickly removed from the clan:
  • Lack of interest or activity in the clan.
  • Lack of patience.
  • Lack of respect.
  • Lack of dedication.
  • Lack of courtesy.
  • Lack of honesty.
  • Any behavior that would have one labeled a "jerk."
The full member trialing of a probate is dependent upon the whim of the branch leadership and the guidelines of the branch.
